Dear Friends,
How are you?
Half of 2026 has passed with lots of intensity and instability globally in so many domains.
Staying focused, grounded and non-reactive feels a lot more challenging and a tall order.
Feels like it’s time to go back to the basics.
The need to maintain habits and rituals is paramount:
– regular timing, quality and quantity of sleep
– eating with the end in mind
– daily movement
– time in silence
– daily reflection and gratitude
– making time and engaging with loved ones, family and friends
The basics, it turns out, are backed by the brain itself. Neuroscience shows we are shaped by what we repeat — small, consistent daily actions quietly rewire our neural pathways, until the practice becomes who we are.
How are you doing with consistency of your daily habits and rituals?
How is all that’s occurring globally impacting you and your family?
Are you feeling focused, grounded and able to remain non-reactive?
As I travel with my beloved, the need to step away from routine and take time off feels more connected. Slowing down to speed up resonates more than ever.
I remember mocking the Europeans for shutting down during July and / or August or those from other hemispheres taking long breaks during Christmas and January. I am starting to understand deeper the need to take time in order to recharge and allow the creativity within to surface and express itself.
When we step away and be still, the wandering mind starts joining dots we never consciously placed – and that, science suggests, is where insight and imagination is born.
Does what I’m sharing resonate?
How are you taking time to recharge and allow the brilliance within you to flow?
What are you choosing for the 2nd half of the year for yourself and your loved ones?
I wish you a restorative and restful summer for some and an engaged and productive winter for others.
With love and gratitude,
feisal

What is Intelligent Leadership?
Intelligent Leadership, John Mattone’s framework, argues that IQ alone doesn’t make great leaders. While cognitive intelligence enables strategy and sound decisions, emotional intelligence, integrity, and resilience determine whether leaders can bring others along.
The model aligns three domains: inner-core strengths (character, values, beliefs, self-concept), outer-core competencies (critical thinking, decision-making, communication, team and change leadership), and commitment to excellence. Self-awareness, empathy, and clear communication build trust and psychological safety, while low emotional intelligence drives disengagement, turnover, and toxic cultures. Leadership coaching helps close these gaps. Ultimately, great leaders align head, heart, and integrity — intellect plus emotion plus character.

A Fan’s Guide to Mental Preparation for the 2026 World Cup Final
The 2026 World Cup Final at MetLife Stadium, New Jersey (19 July) stirs powerful emotions — national pride, cultural identity and lifelong loyalty make results feel deeply personal, sometimes triggering anxiety, stress and emotional exhaustion.
The guide recommends: keep expectations realistic — supporting your team should enhance enjoyment, not determine your happiness; limit pre-match anxiety by setting boundaries around news and social media; build a positive match-day routine with supportive company, healthy food and light exercise; prepare emotionally for any outcome, since a match result doesn’t define your wellbeing; and use football to strengthen social connection. If distress persists and disrupts sleep, work or relationships, seek professional support early

Rewire: Break the Cycle, Alter Your Thoughts and Create Lasting Change – by Nicole Vignola
Rewire by neuroscientist Nicole Vignola is the book that turns brain science into a practical toolkit for change. Her central message is electrifying: you are not stuck with the brain you have. Thanks to neuroplasticity, the thought patterns, habits and self-limiting narratives you’ve rehearsed for years can be unlearned — and rewritten — at any age.
Vignola shows how the brain’s negativity bias keeps us looping on old stories like “I’m not good enough,” then delivers science-backed strategies to interrupt the cycle: reframing your inner dialogue, harnessing visualisation, using sleep, movement and small consistent actions to cement new neural pathways. She distils complex neuroscience into simple, doable daily practices — no jargon, no fluff.
If you’ve ever felt trapped by your own patterns, this book hands you the operating manual for your mind. Read it not just to understand your brain, but to finally change it.

“Real transformation in changing patterns or behaviors requires awareness of the thoughts shaping actions”

“Entering into the Now
Many of us learn to master the mechanics of doing a ritual, without being taught the basics of actually experiencing being. With this in mind, the practice of meditation can be a wonderful gift for the individual who wishes to grow”
