Dear Friends,
It’s a stormy world out there, (geopolitics, economics, etc.,) cultivating and caring for a healthy climate within ourselves and our family systems empowers us and strengthens our shared capacity to engage with the weather “outside.”
How are you?
Physically? Mentally? Emotionally? Relationally?
Are you making time to take stock of these core areas of your wellbeing?
A true wellbeing gym facilitates building balance and resilience in each of these areas. I urge you to consider assembling a team to support you in this.
As you can imagine, I have been going to the “gym” for decades.
A few weeks ago, I started to have heartburn; I haven’t experienced this since my pre-cancer days. A clue perhaps…
Recently, a truth about something that occurred 15 yrs ago was shared with me. This brought clarity to the confusion within me with regards to those events. I felt a sense of relief.
In contrast to that relief and to my surprise, this brought up a lot of anger within me.
Prior to this, the most I had allowed to emotionally surface was the idea that my loved ones had made “selfish” choices. I worked with Natalie who helped me realize and peer into some of my stories around this.
This time my truth of “betrayal” surfaced which was hard to swallow.
I beat my tennis coach for the first time last week and he asked me what I had for breakfast. I practice intermittent fasting daily so, “nothing.”
Anisa’s reply was “anger,” an incredible fuel for performance.
This challenge has been a gift, liberating some very charged and buried emotions from my divorce and financial struggles to be brought into the gym and transformed.
Fueling vitality in my relationship with my beloved, my core team and the families we serve… What a blessing!
What have you buried deep down inside in order to protect your loved ones and maintain an illusory sense of family harmony?
What have you not brought forth, perhaps thinking you are protecting yourself and others, that might actually be good food and service for the “we?”
I nudge you with all my heart to consider allowing the depth of pain to surface with the support of those you trust. I expect you will find, as I have, a release of what is not serving you and is most probably leaking without your knowing in many areas of your life.
In my case, I was asked to write a letter to whom I felt betrayed by and to burn it to release the energy. I did, it felt REALLY good.
Please consider releasing what isn’t serving you as the new year approaches.
I wish you restful and restorative holidays and intimacy with your loved ones.
Happy Holidays and Happy New Year.
with love and gratitude,
Feisal

Your relationship expectations could be holding you back
If trying to change our partners, what if we instead embraced their differences, our difference in values, and release the pressure of doing what everyone else is doing?
If our relationships feel hard, I encourage us to reflect on what is hard about it.
Is it really the relationship or is it external factors like our own personal trauma histories or work stress?

I MAY BE WRONG – Björn Natthiko Lindeblad
After working as an economist, the author gives up his promising career to spend 17 years as a forest monk in Thailand.
“I may be wrong.” The idea is that when going into any conflict you repeat this to yourself 3 times. It’s simple but very effective.
It is not about religion, nor is it meant to tell you how to live your life, and certainly not to make you adopt a new belief system. It aims to help you live more happily and freely, connecting with your thoughts and emotions in a clear and insightful way.
