Dear Friends,

Happy New Year 🎆.

How are you?

We are moving through experience after experience of countries, leaders and human beings thinking, expressing and executing the unfathomable.
Personal boundaries are being crossed and foundational value systems being violated.
This reality seems to be slowly leaking into our homes, families and family enterprises.

Building capacity of anti-fragility within ourselves, our family and the family enterprise may be something to consider.
Learning to move beyond resilience and grow from these experiences seems foundational more than ever to thrive in these unprecedented times.

I nudge you again to focus on building trust in self, trust in life and trust within the family as a starting point in 2026 to expand your and the family’s capacity to prepare to engage with the unfathomable.
Choosing and creating the climate you and your family want to co-exist in is fundamental to have the ability choose how you engage with the weather, ie externals.

The unaddressed elephants in the room will expand during these challenging times so please trust life and lean into the discomfort knowing that on the other side lies growth as a family to co-create the family system needed for generational continuity.

Are you and your family embodying the family values agreed to in day to day life?
How are you and your family preparing for what feels like a “black swan”?
Do you feel the level of trust is solid within the family to engage with the unfathomable in an aligned way forward?

Thinking of you and praying for us all as we move into chaos with conviction and clarity that we will find a way forward together to prevail.

With love and gratitude,
feisal

The 7 lifestyle habits that can protect your brain at any age

Alzheimer’s is described less as a single fixed disease, Dr Dale Bredesen addresses that through lifestyle and medical interventions can improve the brain health.

We start making changes before symptoms become severe. Brain health is framed like heart health: something to monitor and act on proactively, using everyday choices rather than waiting for a late-stage diagnosis.

Starting earlier is better, but it is never too late to adopt brain-healthy habits and reduce risk or slow further decline.

Optimists don’t just live longer. They live better longer.

Optimism is a skill. And it can be trained.

A deceptively simple visualization and writing practice called Best Possible Self (BPS). Grounded in the science of positive psychology, this technique helps rewire your brain to expect and pursue better outcomes.

Instead of scanning for threats or disappointments, it begins to orient toward opportunity, growth, and possibility.

The Anxious Generation: How the Great Rewiring of Childhood Is Causing an Epidemic of Mental Illness

The Anxious Generation: How the Great Rewiring of Childhood Is Causing an Epidemic of Mental Illness

Around 2012, childhood was rapidly rewired—from play-based to phone-based—and teen mental health plummeted. We’re overprotecting our children in the real world while underprotecting them online

In essence, Haidt posits that removing real-world challenges and replacing them with addictive digital engagement has left kids unprepared for life, leading to increased anxiety and depression.

Quotes to Inspire

“We are too quick to anger and too slow to forgive. We are also hypocrites who judge others harshly while automatically justifying our own bad behavior.”

– Jonathan Haidt

“Fission is like Goldilocks’s porridge being too hot and eventually blowing us up in a blaze of heat. Inertia is like Goldilocks’s porridge being too cold and eventually the relationship dies from profound cold.  Only in fusion, when the porridge’s temperature is “just right,” does relationship flower, sustain, and become anti-fragile! In fusion 1+1=3. The miracle of our sun is that it enables life. In my view, this same force leads to life in relationships.”
