Dear friend,
At the beginning of the month, I had the honour and privilege to share at the UBS Next Generation Academy 2022 in Switzerland.
It was an incredible experience seeing 19-26 year old next gen members in action and learning from industry experts about sustainability, legacy and continuity of the family enterprise.
Qineticare was there to support the next gen in exploring their unique gifts, navigating relationships, and developing inner wellbeing. I shared my personal experience navigating impositions and expectations of my family, and the value of having physical, mental-emotional and relational wellbeing to create harmony within the family.
It was refreshing to hear next gens having a completely different ideology to that of my generation. They have more opportunities to think big picture, taking a global and human perspective as they co-create the way forward for their family enterprise.
Besides being open to all possibilities, the next generation seems open to be in gratitude and appreciation for what they have, and for what the generation before has done to pave the way for them to continue the family legacy.
For next gens who don’t know how or where to begin their entrepreneurial journey, as patriarchs and matriarchs, how can we support and create an environment for them to express their full state of being?
I’m learning to see that things need not always be black and white, but instead there is a grey spectrum where many possibilities lie. We can begin by being an observer, coming from a heart space, and only when requested, do we then come from a head space to provide guidance to the next gen.
As a father of 2 sons aged 19 and 21, I am excited for their future and the opportunities life has in store for them. I will continue to support them by doing my best to provide a safe space for conversations to take place, and nurture their inner calling so that they can fully express themselves while continuing the family legacy.
I encourage you to reflect on how you can support the next generation in continuing the family enterprise.
With love and gratitude,
feisal
It is an honor and privilege to share my story with Hubbis this month.
